What do these dress codes mean?

Semi-Formal: Look nice, but you don't have to go all out. Dresses of any length, nice pants/blouses, jumpsuits, suits, blazers, etc.

Black Tie: Go all out - it's a castle, after all. Floor length dresses, fancy jumpsuits, tuxedos, formal kilts.

About the costumes/eras: As you can tell, we're having lots of fun with fantasy and time period for this wedding - feel free to embrace your favorite fandom or era at any of the events. If you want to do costumes but don't know where to start, please reach out - we have volunteers in the wedding party who will be very happy to help you.

Can I have a plus-one?

Unfortunately, the venue's capacity is very limited and strict. As such, we can't accommodate anyone who is not listed on your invitation.

Can I bring my children?
Due to the same policy as above, any children without their own invitation will unfortunately not be able to attend the events.
What will the weather be like?
Cold. Hopefully snowing, probably muddy. The average temperature in mid-February at Borthwick is low 30s to mid 40s °F (or 0-8ish °C). Most events will be entirely indoors. However, Friday's fesitivities will take place both indoors and outdoors, so please dress accordingly (you may want a second of pair of shoes).
